1. Start your day off right!
Starting your day off on the right foot with a good workout will help you stay on track the rest of the day! Even if you have an ugly sweater party or big family dinner that night, starting your day off with a good sweat will make sure you’re staying on track, even while you enjoy the holiday season!

2. Indulge in your favourites, but don’t go overboard.
Many people have a tendency to let their goals fall to the wayside during the holiday season. It’s easy to think that you’ll get back to your goals next year/once Christmas is over, but it’s so much easier to keep your goals in mind during the holiday season rather than starting all over again at the new year. The important thing is to keep things in perspective. Rather than eating all the food in sight, add your favourite foods to your plate, but simply remember your portions! You can eat your favourite foods without sacrificing your goals.

3. Don’t cut back on calories.
It may seem like a good idea to cut back your calories during the day to “save” them for a big dinner or holiday party, but doing so only sets you up for a big binge later! Stick to an even meal plan throughout the day, filled with healthy, whole foods. That way, when you go out to celebrate, you can enjoy the delicious food instead of inhaling it and eating like a crazy banshee.

4. Stay hydrated.
Make sure you stay hydrated during the holiday season. Even with busy schedules, it’s important to make sure your body still gets plenty of water-especially if you are enjoying more alcohol than normal. Staying hydrated will help your body flush out the unhealthy holiday treats, and keep your insides running smoothly.

5. Don’t obsess.
Try not to get caught up in obsessing over the scale. If you feel the need to weigh yourself, stick to once a week. Remember that every step you take towards your goals is still a step forward, no matter how small it feels. Take it one day at a time, make sure your mindset is in the right place, and you’ll be on, and stay on, the right track!
